E-MAIL

Dear Carla,

How are you? I'm very happy because I have started a lot of activities in the gym.

I go to the gym every Monday,Tuesday and Friday in the afternoon.

On Monday, I practice spinning. On Tuesday I practice zumba and crossgrit and on Friday, I practice body tonic and gac.

Zumba is the best class because you move all the body by the rythm of the music. I practice zumba from 8.15 pm to 9.15 pm.

When I finish my zumba lessons, I go out of the gym very relaxed, because these lessons make me forget all problems I have.

Do you think you will come to practice zumba? Keep i touch, OK?

See you,

MARIA!

The persistence of Memory

The persistence of memory is a 1931 painting by artist Salvador Dalí, and is on of his most recognizable works.
The well-know surrealism piece introduced the image of the soft melting pocket watch.
It epitomites Dalí's theory of "softteness" and "hardness",wich was central to his thinking at the time.
Was painted oil on canvas.
In the painting, four clocks are promently on display in an otherwise empty desert scence. While this might seem uncanny enough, because the clooks are not flat.

My grandmother

My grandmother is very special for me, because when I was a small girl it was she who acompanied me to the school, who prepared me the breakfast every day,and who dressed me.
She was affectionate with me, and every day I went with her to ride a fase.
When we became from the country, she helped me with homework.
I think my grandmother would be special for me, but she died when I was nine years old.

AN INVENTION

Now, more of a than 60% of the population has a mobile phone.
The mobile phone has changed the form in which we work and we live our lives.
Every time thre is more people than it that uses the mobile phone to work.
One of the main advantages of the mobile phone is that you can call to any part of the world.
Another advantage is that you can always be located with this device if you have any emergency.
I really think that it is a great invention, acording to the use thatwe want to give to phone.

A letter: My trip to Asturias

Hi!

How are you? This weekend, I camped with my friends in a landslide in Asturias. It was near the capital city, Oviedo. It's such a quiet place.

That's so far away from here so, when we arrived, it was already dark so we decided to have something for dinner because we were so hungry.
We made some sandwiches in the tent and we went to sleep early because next day would be a tiring day.
On Saturday. we woke up at seven o'clock. to start a 22-km route through the mountains.
The first hour was so tough because there were a lot of high ways but the other parts weren't that  tiring.
In the afternoon, we decided to rest.
On Sunday, we picked up everything from the camping and we caught a bus to spend the morning in Oviedo, where we would catch a train to come back home later in the afternoon.

Definetly, it was the best weekend I've had this year. We will try to go back there next year because, for now, we are planning other trips to another countries.

Kisses,
Clàudia

A medical discovery: PENICILIN

Penicilin was discovered by Alexander Fleming in 1928. It was considered the fist antibiotic ever and the most used in worldwide.

Fleming left his laboratory for two weeks and left bacterial cultures that he was studying. When he came back, he realised one of his dishes had grown. While he was trying to random them to kill the bacteries by sinking them in a lysol back. A mold was growing up and it had destroyed the bacteries.

It was important to cure a lot of infections or ilnesses like syphilis or pneumonia. It's demonstrated that without penicilin, now a days, there would be so much more deaths due to ear ache, stomach ache...etc. These diseases are very easy to cure today.

Today, anthibiotics can just be taken with a medical prescription because if you digest it more than you need, you will can die or you'll have bad diseases.

THE SHOES

The shoe is an accessory of the garment made with the intention of providing protection and comfort to the foot that everyone uses.
The shoes are prepared for each phisical of the terrain.
The first shoes were often somple "leather bags" to protect the feet from the Stones, debris amb cold.
Shoes are not dangerous if they meet your requirenment. So you do not hurt your shoes you have to choose your exact foot number and ook for confortable shoes. In the Midde Ages the shoes are made with alternating flaps or fabrics to protect the skin and strangthen the foot for a better fit.

THE INSULIN

Insulin is a hormone made in our pancreas. It allows our body to use glucose for energy.

Frederick Banting and his friends discovered the hormone insulin in 1920. It helps balance our blood glucose levels. When there is too much glucose in our bloodstream, insulin signals our body to store the excess in our liver. The stored glucose isn't released until our blood glucose levels decrease.

Diabete occurs when our body doesn't use insulin properly or doesn't make enough insulin. There are two types of diabetes. So, injections of insulin can help both types of diabetes. All types of insulin produce the same effects. The composition of different types affects how fast and long they work to help the natural increases and decreases of insulin levels.

The insulin is one of the most important medical discoveries. Before it, diabetes meant a slow and sure death.

THE STARRY NIGHT

The Starry Night is a famous painting by Vincent Van Gogh painted in June 1889. It is an oil on canvas and it belongs to postimpressionism. In this painting we can see the view from the east-facing window of the room of the painter, just before sunrise, with the addition of a village.
The colours that appear in this painting are shades of blue, black and brown and all shades of white, cream, yellow and orange. Van Gogh uses in this painting organic shapes like swirling wind, a black tree, a lot of stars, the moon and rolling hills. In this painting there are some parts larger than others, for example, the big black tree stands out from the small village set near the bottom. We can also see the village with buildings with just enough light to be noticed, and other buildings, like the church, that are dark. However, the real action is what there are above the town, where the moon and stars light up the sky. Light moves across the sky, defeating the dark sky wherever it is found.
In my opinion, it is a really masterpiece. I love this painting because I love the night and particularly here, because it is a mixture of colours and light.

Picture description, the nap

This painting, was painted by a very famous painter, Vicent van Gohg. He painted this masterpiece in 1890, in France. The style of this extraordinary painter was the postimpressionism, it was a pictorial movement that developed strongly in the second half of the 19th century. It  broke the academic, social and economic because of this art.In the picture, we can see two persons taking a nap on a haystack , and a horse with a little trailer near another haystack. In this picture we can see many different colours, we can see that's compound with a huge variety of colours, mainly composed with ranges of oranges and blues. In this masterpiece, Vicent van Gogh wanted to express many different feelings, mainly the peace that transmits the nature, because he can't talk with other people and he needs to transmits his feelings through his paintings. In my opinion, this is a beautiful painting, because it's a masterpiece and the history behind this painting is very interesting.
